This museum is much smaller than some similar museums we have visited in the past so it can be done quite quickly. I especially enjoyed seeing the light from a lighthouse that they have on display. Be sure to take the elevator to the fourth floor as there is an amazing view from there that overlooks the harbour and sailboats.

My wife and I had only one day in Santa Barbara and wanted to see a variety of things so we decided to go to the Maritime Museum. We were not disappointed. The exhibits are very well done and informative. We learned about the native culture and the settlement of the area by the natives through the Spanish until today.... More

Good bargain for seniors - only $5. Museum located by the boatdocks, surrounded by various places to eat. Parking is fairly cheap or even free if you can snag a 90-minute stall outside the paying area. Ninety minutes is all you need to cover this small but informative museum. Focus is on the SB harbor, hazards of Point Conception and... More

Small but interesting. The museum is worth a walk-through as you wander the yacht harbor. There a Manu places nearby to stop for lunch or beverages as you view the harbor.

I wasn't sure about how my kids would like this museum, but my mother in law wanted to take them, so we did. She was so right! My youngest had a great time trying on fish and shark costumes, while my husband and older daughter "fished" and completed a scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt was key to the enjoyment of... More
