We spent an entire afternoon along this well-marked drive. We stopped at a few overlooks and ate lunch . The lovely palm trees were quite old and the homes spectacular. Many gated homes with wonderful vistas of the sea. What a tranquil time! The expensive...More

Nice drive, pretty views, nice to see the homes in Santa Barbara. We laughed at the many schools along the route-and wondered if the students paid any attention to the spectacular views they had. Included several must sees including the old mission, Hendry's beach, the wharf,...More

Of the local scenery. Stop by the visitors center to obtain written directions. Navigating all the turns would be tough without directions.

My house is on the scenic drive so I am doubly aware of the length and breadth of the drive. It is lovely in some spots and not in others, but generally a great drive.

Got lost and ended up at a dead end on top of a hill. Such a view! Had some rain and then treated to a double rainbow. Cool.

In addition to driving along PCH, be sure to drive through Santa Barbara. It is a scenic and beautiful place, great to see via car.

Sorry to answer this way, but we were on a bus trip and this is the way we traveled the drive by the shore. It is beautiful though I really loved the sailboats and cabin cruisers.
Planning to visit Santa Barbara on March 13, 2017. traveling with 14,12 & 9 yrs old. Driving from Lax arriving at 7:35am from San Antonio Texas. What is your suggestions? Can we just do a road trip there and back to Torrance at 6pm? Staying at Torrance area for our 2nd day to go to Catalina Island.

Richard G is kind of right. But if you must, go back to Torrence after 8:00 PM. It's only a 1.5 hour drive then. Press that peddle a little harder and it's 1:15 :). Do the drive, I listed it in a review. Get out and ride a... More
