Though parking in the area is rather at a prime, the place is one of the best places we went to have a picnic and watch the surfers do their magic. The park houses a surfing museum with cool but overpriced stickers, the point itself...More

The lighthouse has been turned into a surfing museum. It is located next to some of the best surf viewing. There is no cost but a donation box.

The lighthouse and surfing museum wrapped into one. Definitely stop by and visit and see old pics of the local culture (I see your teenage picture, Kathy).

Most people take surfing for granted, but it had to start somewhere, and the history is explained very well in this quaint former lighthouse, located at the most popular surf spot. Even general history buffs will find it interesting.

Small with tons of history. Free but donations are welcome. Enjoy the memorabilia and history of our Surf City.

We stopped by to see the Mark Abbot Memorial Lighthouse which is in Santa Cruz. The area around it is known as Lighthouse Field State Beach. Its a historic lighthouse. Its also the site of the Surfing Museum.

Such a cute place. It has limited hours during the week so check schedule. The scenery is just beautiful and peaceful.

Loved the lighthouse. Has some great old photos of surfers that I really liked. I purchased two of the VW bug cars with the surfboards on top. Really cute.

The Lighthouse wasn't as big as I expected, and you can't go up inside it. A surfing museum is inside, but it was closed on the day we were there. The point is a very nice, comfortable area to walk around, good walkways, good parking...More
