Great art museum that showcases local and worldwide artists. It also has a fantastic exhibit on the history of Santa Cruz county.

The museum director is taking this Museum in a new and interesting direction. First Friday evenings are great fun. Kids activities are spot on. Often activities are more interactive then your normal museum experience.

If you want some history on the settlement of the Santa Cruz area you will enjoy the second floor of this museum. Lots to look at and read about. There is also a nice gallery of art by a female Chinese artist. Art on the top floor takes a special kind of viewer. It appears to be a form of... More

It was a rainy morning... so I took the opportunity to visit the Museum of Art and History. Not being from California, i found the angry hand exhibit on the third floor fascinating! Never been a skate boarder... but very interesting. The second floor was interesting as well - it did a nice job of capturing the "Keep Santa Cruz... More

This museum admission is only $5 and offers a few floors of exhibits, with a screaming hand exhibit currently as well. There is plenty of local history to see. They also have an exhibit where locals display their unique collections such as flip flops.

My adult stepson and I had a wonderful time exploring this smaller museum, yet is so full of life and wonder! The displays inspire visitors of any age to learn, read and discover. Very beautiful and simple in design. And it is free, by donation only. What a gift to the Santa Cruz community.

Much about the ethnic and cultural history of the Santa Cruz area, with very interesting objects. The special exhibits were interesting as well. I stayed more than an hour.

First Friday of every month is free admission at the MAH. Fun to see what they are working on. Strangely, they sell you wine, but when you want to walk around to see the exhibits, they ask you to leave it on an unguarded table or go out on the terrace to finish it. Remembering it's a significant risk to... More

I adore this museum, especially on Friday nights when it holds its unique and interactive events. Over five years ago it was a sleepy and traditional museum, until the new director came in and breathed new life into it. It is a new breed of museum, with inclusive and cutting edge events. Every time I go, I see or learn... More

I went to an event there that was billed as all-ages. I didn't realize that it was mainly directed at teenagers. They said that there would be tickets at the gate. The event was sold out and no information was given about how to buy advance tickets.
