Riverbench Vineyard was established in 1973, when its first Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes were planted on the property. For years since then, some of the most renowned wineries in Santa Barbara County have purchased our fruit for their own wines. Over time Riverbench has become a prominent name for high quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Santa Maria Valley. In 2004, a group of local families purchased the property. Wine drinkers themselves, the owners quickly became enamored with the wine industry and decided to start producing their own wine label using small quantities of their exceptional fruit. Riverbench Winery was born. The first vintage included both Estate and Reserve versions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Since then, our portfolio has increased to include new interpretations of these noble varietals. All Riverbench wines are made in limited quantities, and many are available exclusively through our tasting room.We are a Santa Barbara Green Business!

This is a really nice winery with a beautiful outdoor area. The wines were our favorite in the entire area. We sat outside, after buying our wine and snacks, and watched the cows walk around while we had our little picnic. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, this is definitely a place we will go back to in... More

Heard via rumor that this facility was unique with great wines. Homey, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Met 2 couples that go there every Wed. to socialize. Atmosphere is very friendly and fairly close to Santa Maria. My wife joined membership that dat.

This is a nice winery with a nice tasting room and really engaging tasting staff. The wines were good, especially the bubblies (we understand their specialty), and some of the pinot. This was our first stop of the day so we didn't stay as long as we should have. They were just starting music outside and it would have been... More

Well that was the plan, we got messed up and tried the reds, I will return and try their bubbly selections. A beautiful property but we visited during rain. You should put this on your list.

As a teacher in Santa Maria from 1960 to 1969, I knew there was much farming in the valley. But there were no wineries. Years later when returning to the area, it’s a new scene. One of my old pals, Steve Will, was part owner of Riverbench, I heard, so I visited the place on an August Sunday. I chose... More

This place is a jewel. The tasting room is part of a nicely made up old house surrounded by a lovely garden/picnic area. The ladies that were working in the tasting room the day my friends and I met up for a reunion were extremely friendly and fun. They have a bubbly tasting option in addition to a Reds only... More

We really enjoyed the wines at Riverbench. They have a fridge with cheese and salami as well as crackers to buy. Sitting outside and enjoying our wine tasting with a wine and cheese plate was one of the highlights. So relaxing and peaceful.

Only drink white wine, but there was none available. A little pricey for tasting. Did not taste any of the red wines. Daughter liked one of types.

Hi there! We are a little confused by this review, because we do make several white wines and offer them for tasting. From Riesling to sparkling white wines to a range of Chardonnays, we have quite a selection for white wine drinkers and all of these are offered on our various tasting lists. Can you clarify what happened during your... More

My wife and older daughter loved the sparkling wine. My wife's favorite was the Demi Sec for $38 a bottle. Tasting fee of $20 for tasting four sparkling wines was waived with the purchase of three bottles. My son-in-law and I thought the Riverbench pinot noir was just average. We both preferred the 2013 Pommard Pinot Noir for $46 a... More
