I found this place on trip advisor. I have been to Sonoma a number of times and had never heard of this place. It is not on the square so it is a little off the beaten path. The staff here are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. You can sample any cheese they make which is quite a few. Bought the... More

Got to do a tasting as part of Sonoma Segway package and bought a bunch of cheese! Delicious and reasonably priced. Love that the cheese is made with tradition and the human touch and is not mass-produced

Enjoyed a nice selection of cheese during our food tour of sonoms. My personal favorite was the golden bear. I would highly recommend this stop while in Sonoma!

This place is fantastic! The cheese is outstanding, and the prices are so reasonable. Our Sonoma Adventure on the segways included a tasting of many of the delicious cheese made here at Vella!

The cheese factory has a lovely shop selling cheese and a variety of other foodstuffs. Order a sandwich to your own specification and wander around with a pager which tells you when your order is ready to collect. Unless you are really hungry share a sandwich-they are very generous.

Love their fresh jalapeno pepperjack along with their signature dry jack cheese. Would recommend stopping by at the beginning of your trip to buy some cheese/meats to picnic at a winery or munch on at the hotel.

We stopped in to try their cheese and were delighted! They make several varieties of cheese and one type is made only by them. They also have several imported cheeses. You can taste any of the cheese they make on site. Friendly and informative about what they make. A great place to pick up some great cheese for a picnic... More

Great little shop around the corner from an overpriced cheese shop. U can try whatever kind that they have. And it's very reasonably priced and they use their own cows milk. Pretty awesome. Highly recommend the Rosemary jack.
