Excellent Hike - Spectacular Views

This is a modest hike with the steepest section being the long staircase that rises from the ferry/port area. After that, it is a slow rise to the top.

At 781 ft, an easy peasy hike accessible either through Sunset Trail or Ida Trail depending on which direction of the island you are starting from. From the top, you are rewarded with a panoramic view of the bay. Depending on how fast you hike, allow yourself a minimum of one hour to get down to Ayala Cove to catch... More

This is a great outdoor activity for the whole family. The climb is not bad and the reward is always guaranteed (unless it's foggy...): incredible views over the whole bay, all bridges, SF itself and the cute towns on the coastline. We took a short 10-minute ferry from Tiburon (which also is wonderful!). Bring a good camera with you!

I was in Tiburon doing some filming and we were based here for a week... Stunning views and images of the Bay including the Golden Gate bridge, fog banks and shipping... You'll need a car or sturdy walking legs - but well worth it...

A ferry or boat ride to Angel Island offers the opportunity to hike up to Mt Livermore for fantastic views of the Bay Area. A major fire burned much of the brush & trees off Mt Livermore but the area has recovered nicely and offers splendid vistas.

It's on a lovely largely undeveloped park of an island in the middle of San Francisco Bay, accessible only by boat. There are great views in all directions (depending on the fog that day). It's a bit of an uphill hike, made slightly worse by the recent regrading to restore the peak's profile to the original - a NIke missile... More

It's a little adventure right next to the big cities. You need to take a ferry, land to the island with a lot of history, hike a mild trail up to the top and enjoy a great view. If you're into history - there is plenty of it. The weather is mild all year long. What else to add ...... More

Short hike, incredible views. The loop up one side and down the other gives you wonderful scenes of the Angel Island oak and chaparal. It's enough to feel like an accomplishment but short enough to be good for children who hike.

We hiked the Ida trail to the summit & took the Sunset trail back down to the Perimeter road since we were camping. The Ida trail is steep & shorter, while the Sunset trail has long switchbacks & not steep. We preferred the Ida trail which also had better views, but the Sunset trail has more shade. We saw many... No place in the bay can you get a better 360 view of our great SF bay. You can see three bridges, sailboats, barges to large ships. The hike is great from any starting point. In the spring you will see wild florwes in full mass. Dear roam the hills in the early mornings. go for an hour run along... More
