Although this park must be paid for separately to enter, the hikes were leisurely and the views are worth it!

Our visit was great from the moment we entered the park. The ranger at the front gate was eager, helpful, and smiling the whole time he gave us suggestions. The second ranger helped the car behind us. I thought that this was great customer service. We spent time at wedding rock and Patrick Point. The views are incredible, no picture... More

We have camped there and yesterday did a day visit to the park. Great place to visit and enjoy the ocean. Wedding rock, tide pools, agate beach or the trees. Does not make a difference rain or shine, it still is a great place to visit. Sea lions live in the bags and whales migrate past the point. Walk your... More

This park is nice to walk around and explore at your leisure. Plenty of trees and lush vegetation. Also there is Agate beach down below from the park. It's a huge long beach that leads all the way to Stone lagoon?(not sure of the exact name). We easily spent 2-3 hours there.

Lovely, lovely park! We very much enjoyed the tide pools and beach combing at Agate Beach. Wedding rock provided some adrenaline because we chose to climb around on it. However, you can simply enjoy the overlooks without the fear of falling.

We went to Patrick's Point on our way to the Redwoods from San Francisco specifically for the Agate Beach, and we were not disappointed. The "steps" to the Agate beach pretty much have suffered erosion and is more of a rope ladder at best and is treacherous. However, if you are able to walk on the Agate beach, you are... More

This is where the forest meets the sea, and coupled with beautiful walks, camping, sea lions, and good birding, it is unparalleled for getting a cross-section sampling of Humboldt. Don't miss Agate Beach, altho the path to walk down is a bit treacherous and not for those with physical limitations. Parts of it wash out or can be very slippery.

I differ from many other reviewers. Yes, this state park is pretty, but at $8 per car it is in my opinion too pricey for one person. You can walk in for free, but it's a long way to the beach area. There are so many other locations within the general area that are also very pretty -- and free!... More

Lovely ocean views and a nice place to walk. We wandered through the park late in the afternoon mostly just to stretch our legs. Staff were working hard to improve what I thought were already excellent gravel trails. There is a small charge for your car, but it's good for the day in other parks, so if you were spending... After days of excursions from Trinidad to Orrick, redwoods, etc, we took a spontaneous turn into this park which was so close to home base, we assumed it was noting special. WRONG!!! It was amazing. One of the best photos of our trip was from there. It's so special that we've decided on our next trip to camp there rather... More
