We have been going to lagoon valley for about 25 years. We used to run the trails (about 10 miles worth) when we were getting ready for our next mountain climb. It's a great place to just kick back or if you run the hills you can turn it into an awesome workout. I think you have to reserve the... More

The lake is full! I imagine the ducks are so happy! Can't wait till the weather warms up and I can go walk around it again!

You can travel from Vacaville on bikes and ride all the way around the lake. It's flat, but the entire area is nicely maintained and the folks who use the park are always wonderful. The dog park is popular, and if you're looking for a good aerobic hike with a view as a reward, the hike to the top of... More

This was our first time at this location and it will not be our last. This is a great location for the family with tons of outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, etc.) we took the hiking trail up to the radio tower and it was a great hike with awesome views. We will be back to fish,... More

It's a cute park but it is hot as heck there if you pardon my French. It's hard to play and have fun when you is in danger of heat stroke.

This park was a pleasant surprise. As other reviewers have noted, you only pay the park entrance fee if you park within the park boundaries. Leashed dogs are allowed. You can park outside the gate and walk in and not be ticketed. So that is what I did Thanksgiving morning (yesterday) with my two dogs. I was surprised at how... More

I love to run. Most of my runs are on sidewalks and streets. It is a good workout physically. But if I want to rejuvenate spiritually, I take my runs to Lagoon Valley. I have the park to myself 6-8 am. There is usually not another soul in site except for the roaming cows which are very friendly by the... More

This unassuming place is tucked away off I-80, between Fairfield and Vacaville. Close to the freeway. A historical society maintains the Pena Adobe which also has a very small museum documenting the life of the earliest Pioneers/Europeans to come to this area - Mr. Pena and his family. The adjacent and further the curiously named Lagoon Valley park has a... More

The Lagoon Valley/Pena Adobe area is a great place to go for the day to spend some time outdoors. There are plenty of options on things to do, including various hiking trails, bike trails, fishing picnic area and there is even an archery range nearby. The area is well kept and a favorite of many in the area when the... More

There are great trails for kids (or beginners) to mountain bike at Pena Adobe. Definitely check out the paved paths at the opposite end of the parking area. Once you get down the hill, there's a shade garden area with picnic tables and a bike path that goes around the (for now anyway, dried up) lagoon that have various single... More
