Nice view of the bay from many holes. Growth for beginners to moderate golfers because there are many parts 4s. Course layout is nice and those fairway bunkers make you put that driver back into your bag. It does get windy in the afternoon. Definitely worth playing there again in the future, and has a touch of history

The course is definitely challenging, has some amazing views, and tells a story of its past with the remaining military installments. This course has so much potential to be a hot spot for golf enthusiasts which is why it is so disappointing how it is being ran and poorly maintained. To be fair, some holes were better than others on... More

Come on out and play a round of golf on a piece of history. Situated on what used to be the U.S. Naval Station Mare Island, this course boasts the best of old and new. Play 'the old course' while gently wandering through old growth trees amid the original 9 holes. At the turn, grab a refreshment and play 'the... More

Hi gang, Re-visited here with a buddy for his first time playing Mare Island. Got a deal at 2 for $35 incl cart and range balls. The driving range is poorly designed allowing only irons and hybrids. The mats are torn in places and the fairway is about 20 ft below you. With that elevation you don't really get any... More

Mare Island Golf course was a very pleasant golf experience, from the time you arrive and greeted at golf shop (originally radio facility for armed forces) to having a cold beverage after play this was one great unexpected experience. Golf course very hilly great water views of bay and Napa River. Greens very underlating and excellent condition, some of best... More

4 for course 1 for restaurant equals 3. Always play here when in the area. Course has signs of drought although they are keeping it green were it counts. Restaurant staff are always slow, unconcerned when mistakes made ( basically they are not Burger King - no getting it your way). If they showed they cared or faked a sense... More

Mare Island golf course is a beautiful and well cared for course. While not overly difficult the surroundings are very tranquil and the scenery is excellent. The food in the clubhouse is also very good and plentiful!

Not a hard golf course but very punitive if you miss the fairway. Small elevated greens can be tough to hit even inside of 120 yards. Funky fairways.

Driving there sets the mood. The history, the still in use buildings and the relics that cover the shipyard make you realize you are headed into the past. You are going to play a course that Admirals, Generals & statesmen played. The drought has hurt the course, like every course I've played these last few months. But they have maintained the... More
