Situated in the heart of an energetic city is beautiful, historic Downtown Boulder. At the heart of Downtown Boulder is the Pearl Street Mall, a wonderfully charismatic four-block-long pedestrian mall that celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007. Colorful, bright flowers fill the mall almost the entire year and street performers, with a multitude of talents, make the Pearl Street Mall one of the best people-watching destinations anywhere.

I thought it looked just like 3rd Street Promenade. We found out it was designed after that street. Fabulous shops and restaurants. Lots of quaint artsy Boulder shops and many big chains. Eat at Oak and at Shine (just off Pearl)! Best Steve Madden/Freebird Store I've seen, including in NYC.

This was what we were looking for! Pearl Street has boutiques and restaurants for many blocks with a fantastic view of the mountains. Lots of choices to walk around and just window or shop or shop 'till you drop! The street was unique and being so close to the mountains it felt like a post card. It's about a 45... More

A very nice street mall area with no traffic and no smoking. The high end shops are there for the affluent crowd along with unique shops for the regular tourist crowd. A good mix of restaurants, artsy stores, and stores for the slightly eccentric. A must stop if in Boulder

My family was in town for the CU/Utah game and I decided to some Small Business Saturday Shopping. I fell in love! I have been wanting to go into the store Free People and never knew where to find one. LOVE it. I also went in to an awesome toy store and got some cool and different Christmas presents. I... More

Boulder Rocks! Hip, cool and fun. Very walkable. Pearl Street is a must, even if you don't have much money, it's worth it for the people watching. Although it's a college town, there is something for everyone.

Wonderful anti-mall shopping experience. Street performers, people watching, interesting restaurants and bars, and all sorts of retail opportunities provide hours of entertainment.

Awesome little strip of bars, restaurants, and shops. We went after hiking and walked right into a protest infront of Wells Fargo, pretty interesting. We stopped at a soda shop that had lots of bottle soda and candies. We also stopped at a bar to watch a soccer game, Old Chicago. Definitely suggest stopping to explore Pearl Street.

Lots to stores selling from A-Z. This is definitely an international city. All kinds of people, reminds me of Vince Beach. Great way to hang out and spend time. Nice shops, plenty of food. This is where you want to buy your souvenirs. Walking distance to the restaurant/bar The Sink another great place for atmosphere, Robert Redford use to bus... More

Always a fun day/night/afternoon stroll down the Pearl Street Mall. Great restaurants, shops and sights. The Peppercorn, best kitchen/home store don't miss!

Just spent a few days in Boulder, and greatly enjoyed the Pearl Street Mall. Lots of towns have created pedestrian malls in their old downtown areas (including Ithaca, NY, where I live now!), but few have succeeded so brilliantly as Boulder with the Pearl Street venture. These few blocks of downtown are a true delight, with fabulous eateries, outstanding shopping... More
