A fun space, with changing exhibits. It's small, but worth dipping into when you're downtown walking around. Would be a great space for a modern party, a book launch, etc.

This museum is located in a great spot next to central Boulder. Regular admission is only $1, but we visited on a Saturday when admission is free. It's a small museum with changing exhibits and incredible pieces on display from both local and foreign artists. There is a small gift shop with interesting products on sale. Great place to visit,... First, it was only a dollar to go in and it is right next to the Boulder Dushanabe tea house so you are right there to visit. 1 and 1/2 floors had exhibits. Appears fresh, up beat and the upstairs exhibit was about bee hives. They had a bee hive projected on 2 walls so you felt you were inside... More

As much for the architecture (which is always there) as for the exhibits (which change). The BMOCA people have worked on both, making them work together. The exhibits are meant to open new pathways in thinking and the staff does a good job of that.

It probably depends very much on the current exhibition. The one we saw was hung haphazardly and without much energy to it. It only costs a dollar and places like this should be supported, just don't expect much..

We were so impressed with this fantastic community facility. All the more disappointing that the second floor - an amazing gallery and exhibition space - was empty. What a shame. We realize that not everyone likes or appreciates the same in art, so we expect that many folks liked the first floor show, "Bliss". We found it to be precious... More

Maybe it's because I don't "get" contemporary art but I paid a dollar to go into an empty place. I'm a visual person but I could fathom the theme or what was going on. It might be fine with other people that are into that type of things but I was so lost. Waste of time really but that was... More

Since it was listed as a must see, we ventured in to the two-story building a short walk from the Pearl Street Mall on a Saturday. The entry fee was donation-based. The Museum occupied approximately 2,000 square feet of space and most of it was vacant. Both my travel companion and I found it difficullt to understand the positive previous... More

It is free during Farmer's Market days and only costs $1 other times. I asked the difference between modern art and contemporary art and the answer is that modern art is stuff like Picasso and Salvador Dali and contemporary art is stuff done last week. It is a small place so why not stop in. The world needs artists.
