Took family pictures there in summer and the Flatirons are the most beautiful backdrop!! Love it for hikes as well.

In our part of the Solar System (see my review on that coming soon), the Flatirons rank near the top. You can admire them every day (same, only different) and you can (you must) get right up cozy with them - anything from a nice little walk on the Mesa Trail to risking life and limb on a 70 degree... We loved the flatirons. The are so majestic and just really took our breath away. Lucky people to live right next to these mountains. We hiked up a small ways. It started icing up on the path we were on so we turned back. The little one just ran and had a great time. We will definitely be making this... More

And amazing part of Colorado and America. The views are spectacular. There are several good places to hike around the flatirons depending on your experience level. I would recommend an app AllTrails to find which trail is right for you.

My husband and I spent two days hiking the fantastic and well marked trails in the Flatirons in Boulder. There are many different trails to take, from somewhat easy to extremely challenging. We even saw people scaling rock walls. Lots of hikers brought their dogs along for exercise too. Be sure to bring water if you plan to be out... More

If your a climber the flatirons can become an extremely fun place. The easy, long scrambles allow for a nice quick workout once one drops the ropes. Unless your an experienced climber I recommend using ropes, at least at first. There are also many great options for guided climbs. This is a great option for any adventure seeker.
