We got so lost and the hike ended up becoming way longer than expected. Take the shuttle, otherwise parking adds another 1.5 miles each way. Download Alltrails and have the hike open before you start, or print a map and follow it as signage is not good.

Not for the faint of heart without snow tires in winter, but this is a lovely drive from Breckenridge to 2 charming towns, Alma and Fairplay! About 10 miles out of Breck and then enjoy!! Lots of hikes along the way too!!

We drove over on our way home while it was snowing last week. Very scary for us in a two wheel drive truck with no weight on the back plus our side of the road was not cleared yet, it's still snowing, early morning. So, we could not pull over and take in the sights. We have been over the pass in the summer and it is lovely.

We always enjoy going over Hoosier pass. We stop and take in some hiking trails. You can always take the next road going sound and take it to the dam. Great views of Quandary Peak.

The drive up the pass is pretty cool but the loop trail at the top was awesome. A bit of a climb but the views are worth it. We had to skirt a couple pockets of snow but we were able to complete the hide in tennis shoes.

This is a great road to get to Breckenridge. The snowplows are proficient in keeping the pass open and the road is in good condition. We always use this route when we head to the ski areas in this area.

Hoosier Pass is probably best visited on a clear summer day when the vista is viewable and the roads are not ice covered. As we neared the pass several 4x4 vehicles had problems with traction.

We travel between Breckenridge and Fairplay some and Hoosier Pass always gives us a nice view of the Breckenridge valley (on the North side) and the Alma/Fairplay valley on the south. A number of hairpin turns coming from Breck but nothing the average driver can't handle. While we've never hiked at the top, the hiking trails at the Hoosier pass summit appear to be very popular!

We went over the Hoosier Pass with our fly fishing guide to get to our fishing destination. The scenery we drove through was really stunning.

Very nice trail head, with great parking and the large sign marking the Continental Divide. We walked a bit and took the picture to mark the elevation; 11,539 feet. No restrooms.
