Been skiing Breck for 10 years and this year, MLK weekend, is like something out of a horror movie. Slopes are jam-packed. People everywhere with, sadly, many clueless or inconsiderate people who don't look uphill when merging. Saw two collisions that looked nasty and that were avoidable.

I go to the mountains to enjoy nature and get some exercise. With the gorgeous mountains saturated with human bodies, it's impossible to do either. You'll spend more time parking, queuing to go up a chair and watching for knuckleheads on the slopes than you will skiing or boarding. Sucks.

Traffic in town is worse than rush hour in Denver.

If the sheep adore it and don't mind knocking heads together, more power to them. The emperor has no clothes.

Beautiful mountain. But beware of the altitude if you are coming from somewhere else like we did from the low-altitude East coast. Give yourself time to adjust.

They have ruined a family vacation by their moronic Covid regulations...not going back until they turn off their draconian restrictions.

Having only skied Europe, I found Breckenridge frustrating. We had great snow but lifts are so slow which caused huge lines. The more advanced slopes were always closed with those that were open short little runs. No atmosphere of restaurants or bars on the mountain. Overall a great place for beginners which left some of our party bored.

It's a fabulous spot! Just make sure not to get clogged on way up.

Avoid dangerous I-70. Choose the faster safer alternate route.

Rolling out of Denver head towards Red Rocks..stop and snap some pix then update the 'gram. Take US-285 up over and thru the big valley. Jump Hoosier pass and quickly land at the Rooster.

Breck is Epic. Always expanding. Always bustling. Always accommodating those trying to ski and ride. Rumored to be expanding to Peak#1 so get your pass today.

Take US-285 to Breck. Ride the Rooster! #gobreck

Be very cautious when visiting in the summer. They will routinely shutdown the entire resort even the simple little things that could stay open for kids to do. They do not communicate about what is going on, just leave you to sit there wondering. Our family paid almost $400 for a day of frustration.

Our family booked a vrbo, ski lessons, lift tickets, and ski rentals for March of 2020. We called ahead to make sure they weren’t thinking of closing because of COVID and were assured they weren’t. However, on our first full day there just as we finished getting our ski rentals the mountain did indeed close down. We were able to eventually get our money back for the rentals and the vrbo was gracious enough to refund part of our money. Breckinridge Ski resort, however, would only give us credit towards 2020. So…we booked for 2021 paying more money to use this credit. Huge snowstorm hit Denver and we were advised not to travel. Again we were unable to get refunded. In order to get our $438 to use while we are in the area this week we would have to purchase yet another pass. In all of our family Breckinridge STOLE over $3000. We used to love taking our family there. We looked forward to repeating it with our grandkids….not happening 😕

This ski resort is amazing. The grounds are beautiful and the views of the mountains from the summit are incredible. We came in summer and took the chair ride to top. We hiked around up too and enjoyed a “as cold as the Rockies” coors at the summit lodge on the deck. The views were breathtaking. At the base there plenty of a tutors for kids of all ages and live music. Lots of mountain bikers everywhere! The gondola ride up the resort was peaceful and pretty. We cant wait to come back and ski here!

Me, and my 4 kids had been planning a trip to the ski area for a day of great activities, we had travelled by car from massachusetts to enjoy alpine slides, hiking etc.. and had planned on going due to the fact the weather was great and the risk for afternoon storms very minimal or zero (I am a commercial pilot with 30 years of meteorlogical experience). I had studied weather data not normally available to the public to determine the risk of storm closure. It was non-existant. So we went. An hour into it and one ride on the alpine coaster (I paid extra for the unlimited ride experience with all the activities) ... they closed the entire park! Sunny weather and hot. Why the shutdown? Apparently a lightning strike occureed within 20 miles. I opened up my weather app with lightning detection and yes a storm was located over Aspen 20 miles to the west. One lightning strike occurred there and the storm was actually drifiting to the west, away from our location. Their so called policy, which is not in writing anywhere, was if a lightning strike occurs, they will close for an hour to re-evalute later.. if another strike occurs, they will close for another hour and wait again to re-evaluate. Another hour into this, of course another thunderstorm occurred near Aspen, perhaps 19 miles away.... they continuted the closure. At this point with sunny skies overhead, I began to question their policy. I tried speaking to management. Nobody could give me the policy. Nobody could provide detailed weather information until one guy finally showed me the app they use but told me they don't issue refunds to anyone under any circumstances despite having no lightning policy, explaination, meterorlogical intelligence etc... only they must keep "everybody safe" ... obviously written by a distant lawyer. As a pilot I can tell you there was zero threat from this storm. Why not have somebody with actualy weather knowledge and the ability to interpret radar and imagery on staff? How about somebody with the ability to issue a refund under this silly policy? Instead they were turning hundereds of angry people away. We were out $400 ... unaccptable. I went thru 3 people, no managament ability, and they rudely refused to give me the name and numbers of anyone above them.

I got a refund thru the Capital One credit card people I used to book the event. Vail resorts is now out $400. I hope anyone going in the summer will realize you will get screwed. I heard from a nice employee out of the office as I was leaving, they had been closing everyday all week leaving hundereds of people dismayed and disappointed.

The worst experience customer service wise of anyplace I have gone, a weather policy that is verbal only, not in writing and no data on exact lightning policy or anything with substance.... you will never find a manager either. A poorly run company with employees that have no power and speak to you like you're a fool. I could manage their weather policy and keep people safe... they are just speaking from a silly blanket statement that somebody put in place with no substance.

We went in the summer and they have a lot of summer activities. We had a great time. We hope to visit again sometime and I'm sure the winters are great to!
