We were able to visit when the eaglets were still in the nest, and it was amazing. The hike to get to the viewing area was lovely with a multitude of breath-taking views.

We had a four hour delay thanks to Spirit Air (who later cancelled our flight) and still had a rental car, so I randomly looked at a map and saw there was a lake and park within 20 min. $7 to park. The drive out there is strange, through planned subdivisions and fields. The lake is great to walk around... More

Lots of birds to see. Wish I had my telephoto camera. Very hot when we went (90's), so difficult to walk for very long. Will return when cooler weather!

This park is a great place to relax for a few hours. We enjoyed some easy hiking. I'm not really a birdwatcher, but the quantity and variety of birds we encountered here was amazing. The visitors center is in the middle of a remodel, but the faculty were very nice. Overall, this was a nice, peaceful place and a bargain... More

Barr Lake State Park is a Colorado state park established in 1977 in Adams County near Brighton. The 2,715-acre park has 12 miles of trails, including an 8.8-mile trail that circles Barr Lake. Fishing and boating are popular activities in the northern half of the park while the southern half is a wildlife refuge with several wildlife viewing stations and... More

This park is cute, and offers good trails along the lake. I rate it low because it's a disgrace to pay 7dollars daily for any time in the park. Too many great parks in state, and country side save your money.

It's a nice park usually not very busy at all. There is real nice trail to walk around the lake. Clean restrooms and shop/office. They have nice schedule of events for the kids. Plenty of birds to see for the bird watchers. I wasn't very impressed with the lake smelled and looked kinda nasty. It's a good place to get... More

Went to Barr Lake, the entrance fee is $7, and well worth it for a nice stroll around the water, the kids loved the playground area, equipment was new and had a wide variety of things to do! The sanctuary and gift shop make a nice stop and a place to stop and have a snack, the restrooms are very... More

We've been to this park a lot and I'm almost reluctant to share this "secret" place. Barr Lake is a wonderful spot for photographing wildlife and birds. On numerous occasions, we've seen herds of deer (two kinds, according to the helpful volunteers in the Nature Center), muskrats, beavers, turtles, toads and birds - LOTS of birds. There's a parking area... More

Park is in the middle of nowhere and in the dessert. But not a whole lot to do. No real grass area. The lake is pretty! It's so quiet and peaceful! Would totally go back!!!
