This is an inexpensive museum to visit at $7.00 per adult. They do give Senior (over 65) and Military discounts (Active Duty or Retired). The museum offers a self guided tour and each of the different cells provides an exhibit of life in the prison system, the equipment that was used by the correction system, and so on. There is... We were pleasantly surprised by the attraction. It was extremely interesting. Lots to see and read. We spent more than 2 hours there and wanted to read/ see more about past events. We were even looking people/ events up on our phones as we went along. Very interesting, we couldn't get enough.

This museum is awesome! As a correctional nurse, the info you receive here was so interesting. My mom even enjoyed it. It is a self guided tour, you can go as slow or as fast as you want.

You can spend anywhere from 15 mins to 2 hrs in here depending on how much you wanna read. They have old cells filled with info from canon city or some of the prisons themselves. I think there are 2 floors. In the basement you can look st the kitchen and some cool art work. All in all, it's worth... More

What an interesting place. So much to see. Very informative and set out really well. Easy to do a self guided tour with just the booklet. One can read as much or as little as they like.

It is interesting to, but way over priced for the 10 minutes it takes you to go through it! If you excited to see tiny prison cells..this is your place. I would not recommend to my friends or family.

What says Americana more than a museum for prisoners, wardens, & other penitentiary workers? A hidden mother load near the Rockies full of memories and mementos, both good and bad. If you want to learn about life behind bars without committing a felony, this is the museum for you. What you see here might surprise and even change the way... More

We went here after our trip on the Railroad. It was a nice walk around with a history of Colorado Prisons. They have a neat book in the basement of all the well known people who have or are serving in SuperMax too. My daughter (11) found it ok. There is a lot of reading if you want to take... More
