Very clean, quiet and located well into the woods. Absolutely worth the visit. When driving on the back roads, watch for elk and deer as they are very friendly and not afraid of cars.

The grounds were impeccably maintained. The chapel is an iconic and impressive sight. The visitors center was very informative.

USAFA is truly a beautiful campus but I am glad I went to a college. This is a most difficult 4 year program. Amazing facilities in a great setting; we have visited all the other service academies also—they all have different landscapes but they all...More

The Academy is nestled in the mountains above Colorado Springs. There is a visitors center with an interesting history of the academy. Otherwise not much to see other than the campus and the cadets. The different chapels and the architecture are pretty amazing. No cost...More

You expect military stuff, but it is just a beautiful college campus. Yes the people run around in uniforms and some times you can see them march, but it is just a real pretty college. They DO get to be right under Pikes Peak, and...More

We drove and arrived at the gate at 4:30pm and had to show our driver’s license before the police guard let you in. We went straight to the visitor center first. It was far from the gate and it took us almost 5 minutes to...More

No cost to visit. You will need a government issue photo ID to enter. Also, be mindful, if traveling with any weapons, they can not be brought into the facility.

It depends on how big your RV is. I don't believe there is room in the visitor center parking lot for a large RV. There probably is room at the PX shopping center, but it is some way from the visitor center. Not sure if they... More
