Housed in an award winning art-deco facility, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College has been the cultural center of the Pikes Peak region for nearly a century. With roots reaching back to the Broadmoor Art Academy, the Fine Arts Center has striven to promote the importance of fine art from its inception in 1936. The FAC's museum boasts a large permanent collection of regional, national, and international artists and hosts an array of traveling exhibitions. In addition to the museum, the Fine Arts Center also houses a Broadway-caliber theater with its own theater company as well as an established art school.

We really liked the Rembrandt to Warhol exhibition. This museum is not great in size, but the staff was really helpful and the exhibits are easy to find and are very interesting. We also appreciated the free easy parking and the relatively inexpensive admission fee....More

I attended the "Art of Storytelling" and "Everyday Extraordinary" this past weekend. In a word: wonderful! The insights and artwork in both shows were awesome even staggering. There were only a few people around and for $ 12 I had a blast.

I hadn't been to the Fine Arts Center since I was a child. So visiting today brought back great memories, but the new experience made for amazing new memories! The complex is gorgeous, and the musical, Man of La Mancha, was amazing! So glad I...More

The Colorado Springs FAC is a very nice, smaller museum. One can see all of the exhibits in a few hours. The emphasis is on North American Indian art and artifacts, especially those with a Christian theme. The FAC also has a "tactile" museum, which...More

The show we saw was really cheesy but I loved this theater. It was small, cozy yet spacious and the sound quality was impeccable. No seat in the house has a bad view

The emphasis of this museum is mostly modern/contemporary art. It does have some older Native-American pieces, but mostly modern stuff. While visiting two of the upstairs galleries were dedicated to rock-n-roll photography and the other regarding recent riots in Ferguson and Baltimore; very anti-police/black racist...More

This museum is nice a good size with a nice variety of art. Clean, spacious and made for a nice outing. The art collections were a good variety and covered several centuries in time. I would go back when they get some new collections.

The Fine Arts Center exceeded my expectations. It is a large two story facility with extensive permanent and special collections. Much of the permanent collection has a local or regional connection, some nice things. There is a good sculpture collection. The gift shop offers a...More

A nice size and truly an art museum not an artifact storage place. They have changing exhibits that are fun, with docents to answer your questions and give information. I also like the permanent exhibits so I can revisit favorite works. This is nicely laid...More
