This is a 1891 silver mine that is being restored and open- free to see. It has rock and mineral collecting, old buildings, its own museum and mine buildings. We are working on opening the underground for tours and continuing to restore several old structures. The 1891 tunnel was opened in June 2014 and is currently undergoing restoration for the upcoming public opening. Come stay overnite with us in one of the restored mining cabins, fully furnished and wake up to the old mining history. The best time you can have in Creede, Colorado. Visit our free museum see great vistas and you and your loved will leave with memories that will last a lifetime. You will visit no other place quite like this place,

This place is nothing special to look at, but a good place to rock hound. You can pay to rock hound or beat rocks.. The view is spectacular! There is a mine to tour, but be prepared to pay. We opted not to tour, because...More

My kiddos and I went here in 2012 and stayed three nights. We loved driving the mining roads looking for old headframes from the mining boom days! The cabin was exactly like it would have been in the 1800's and we loved using the wood...More

The best part about a trip to the Last Chance Mine is the drive leaving here. The place is terribly run down and the owner is the rudest and most uneducated person you will ever meet in your lifetime. You would save people a wasted...More

This is as authentic an experience that anyone will get when visiting the true historically significant towns of Colorado. Our kids were excited to go, and tired when done - but really enjoyed how much they learned about the reality of the mining life, and...More

Fun stop on the Bachelor loop. Excellent and informative mine tour and history of the mine. Also fun to rock hound for a while even if we didn't know what we were doing.

Amber and Fish brought the mine to life for us. Amber started our visit off with how Jack acquired the mine and what his vision was for the Last Chance. Fish continued the experience by taking us into the tunnels and showing us how the...More

The view is stunning. The restoration is great. It is a mine tour for even the claustrophobic. I can't say enough about it all. Even getting there is great. We were considering coming back to stay in one of the cabins. Having said all that,...More

Our guide was quirky, but knowledgable, and we enjoyed it so much we looked up more information on the Internet on the way home.

The mine is well lighted and safety comes first. With required hard hats, safe room, air monitors, and emergency phone. The tunnels and stoops are beyond description. The walls are covered in amethyst and agate crystals. You have to see it to believe what the...More

I found your statement a little strange [ nice drive but disappointing, very beautiful but nothing to see] this statement seems to contradict it's self. You were greeted by myself or a staff told our history if you took the time to listen to it. You were then explained you could look around at our restored mine buildings and cabins also tour our mine related museum free and look at rocks, mineral and fossils from all around the world you were never ask to buy but were told that i operate strictly off of our sales and any donation that are left. If you have ever gone into a rock shop you would know our prices on rocks are more than reasonable, none of which you were ever ask to buy our ever ask for a direct donation. If you got nothing from your visit i'm sorry for so many other men, women and children have and for that i am thankful. I have read some of your other reviews and find a lot more negative than positive maybe the problem lies else where! Jack Morris owner
