Interesting and fun 4 mile round trip on an old steam engine train. The smell of coal burning was no problem to me but bothered my husband a little. Beautiful view of the valley from the top.

Best feature of this little railroad is the 1930 steam engine that pulls the open air cars out of Cripple creek up into the gold mining area and near the large remaining commercial mine. Trip is too short, but the cost was low appropriately. Fun...More

It’s a narrow gauge 45-min train ride along cripple creek, provides scenic history of mining in the area. Nothing extra-ordinary, but a good outing for kids and family – if you’re in cripple creek. Sit in to glass enclosed coach to avoid charcoal debris of...More

This is a rail ride of short duration, approximately 45 minutes. The train can get crowded so try to get there early for your desired departure time. There are two cars. One is enclosed with glass and the other is open. Make your choice according...More

This is a fun and informative ride on an old narrow gauge railroad. Do expect to learn a lot about mining in the area. Don't expect spectacular scenery-this is more about the history. Ride is only about 2 miles, but there are 3 stops along...More

The railway runs along the old Cripple Creak to Canyon City main line, which was pulled up in the mid 20th century. It now runs old narrow gauge steam trains with one open and one closed carriage. The line passes the spot where the discoverer...More
