I was looking for something warm to do when visiting Denver in January and I ended up at the Art Museum. This was an amazing 6 foot building that exceeded all expectations. The exhibits are clean and well put together. They have a Star Wars Costume display right now and it is definitely worth checking out!

We are members and enjoy frequent visits to the Denver Art Museum. Final Fridays are a special treat, as we'll go downtown and grab an late lunch, early dinner at a local restaurant like City O City, and then walk down to the museum after 5. It is open on Fridays until 8, and then on Final Friday (except Nov... More

We made a special trip to Denver to see a traveling exhibit of Renaissance art from Venice. The exhibit was well mounted and curated, and we could see the items more closely than in their original sites in Venice itself. We were also impressed by the wide-ranging collections of the museum, including a large group of pre-Columbian objects and Tlingit... More

Went for the Star Wars Costumes, It was far better and impressive than I had imagined. Also very much enjoyed the Western exhibitions. Did not travel with our children but they had two different appealing areas with activities for children.

A family outing, 4 adults and 2 children. Our entrance time was 11 am. The exhibit offered audio handsets, one number assigned for adults, another for children, was a great detail. The coffee and gift shops were very nice. Will definitely go back.

This museum is in two separate buildings so there's a lot of space to cover. Unfortunately, the very first floor I went to was under construction. That was disappointing. Overall, I think it's an average museum. Wear comfortable shoes!

The DAM has really stepped up in recent years, working on getting bigger international shows, putting together some really interesting programing, and all housed in two building, each designed by modern masters. I still love the original Ponti building with a fantastic Northwestern/indigenous peoples area, wonderful shows in fabrics and textiles, and surprise views from the top floors out over... More

This museum is culturally diverse which is comforting to see. Expect to be there for a couple of hours, at the least. There is a lot to see here. And the architecture is just breathtaking.

I spent an afternoon at the Denver Art Museum while spending a weekend there. I was pleasantly surprised by the range and quality of art. It focus on American West and Native American art distinguishes it from many of the other museums I've visited and their temporary exhibits were all interesting. The permanent collection is otherwise not that unique but... More

I expected more out of this museum. The Western American art collection was unimpressive (though so is the genre), as was the American and European art collections: second-rate artists intermixed with a few second-rate works by prominent artists. The Asian, American Indian, and Northwest art collections are extensive, but the interpretation of them left something to be desired. The building... More
