It's a scary drive to the top of Mount Evans, but totally worth it. Beautiful, wild space. What a great feeling being at over 14,000 feet. Wildlife, incredible views.

Yes I'd go to Evergreen and then west in that state highway toward Echo Lake.

You are at 14,000 + feet at the very top and it is more comfortable temperature wise. You can just go to Summit Lake and it is 11,000+ feet and see how you feel as well as the kiddo. The altitude does get to many people... More
