Very disappointed after reading all the rave reviews. Store front reeks of animal waste and so did my dog when I picked him up after we rode the train. We were not shown where the pets were kept but the areas we saw looked run down and dirty. Staff seemed disinterested and not very friendly. Next time I'll stick with... More

I am very sorry you did not have a good experience with us. Please rest assured that we are constantly cleaning and disinfecting our facility, and our “camp counselors” are doing their best to make sure every dog gets plenty of attention and play time. Unfortunately addressing the odor situation is a constant battle especially when dogs urinate near the... More

Have no worries - Healthy Hounds and Fat Cats love to take care your your pets like they are their own. The also have a extended pet car service for those riding the train. Their office is right down the street from the dog park.

Very good place. Not the newest but my dog seemed to love it and had nothing but a wagging tail. I went to Durango pet resort and waited 10 mins and nobody came out so they lost a customer. Very nice people! They even loaned out a jacket to my girl

We reserved the day care for our dog for the day we road the train. Since our dog is a rescue and has some issues, we were a little concerned about how she would do in a group setting. The staff here are great and have been trained in dog behavior and even though our train was an hour late... More

We used them to board our 20 lb dog when we rode the Durango Silverton Railroad for the day. Easy to deal with and reasonable boarding rate.

I leave my dog Bailey with Healthy Hounds and find the experience to be favorable. The owner cares and the employees are always communicating how Bailey's day was.. Considering the amount of dishonest and ethically challenged owners in Durango, Healthy Hounds is a breath of fresh air. I am very happy with Healthy Hounds

We left our puppy here as we were taking the train ride. My puppy cannot talk so I do not know what kind of experience he had. But, I sure can say what experience I had. The people whom I encountered there were not very friendly. Customer service is not their thing. When I was leaving my puppy there I... More

Hi Mary, I am so sorry you had a bad experience with us. I agree that if an employee is having a bad day, they should keep that to themselves. We usually pride ourselves on our customer service- I would have contacted you directly to apologize if I had known there was a problem. I just now (October 9) stumbled... More

From the moment I made the reservation to the end of my dog's second day at Healthy Hounds & Fat Cats I appreciated the animal lovers who run this establishment. My little guy was kept in a small area near the reception desk with three or four other small breeds. They had access to an outdoor play area via a... More
