Yes there is a mini mart at the rear of the bar/restaurant complex, also a small store on the beach, for drinks, etc. the Paraga Camping also has a well stocked supermarket.

The only beach that is close to the port is the small and often quite dirty city beach. One of the closer beaches to downtown and a cab ride away would be Ornos for example. Just make sure you organize a cab for the return... More
