This is a fairly easy bike trip from Glenwood Springs heading east to the hydro dam on the Colorado River. In late spring or early summer the water in the river is roaring and is a site to behold as it moves over the large...More

The canyon offers beautiful views as it winds along the Colorado River. Rest areas provide restroom and picnic tables. Excellent walking or biking with multiple launch points.

We walked for hours on this beautiful paved trail. Not many bikers around- and we loved the views of the river and the canyon- the Amtrack train in fact runs parallel to the canyon walls and the river- the passengers must have drop-dead views! The...More

My husband and I rode the entire trail on a beautiful September day. Spectacular views, easy riding, friendly people along the trail. The roar of the interstate was drowned out most of the time by the roar of the Colorado River. Hope to do this...More

The trail, either walking or by bike is spectacular. High canyon walls and the roar of the Colorado combine to create a magical journey.

I have bikes all over the world, and all over Colorado as well. This is the most scenic bike path I have ever ridden. In all honesty. It's just about the most scenic bike ride I have ever ridden. It is an absolute must do.

If you don't have your own bikes with you, there are places to rent bikes and most will drive you to the top of the canyon so you just have to ride down hill. The uphill direction is never too steep, so riding both ways...More

Which direction? East past Hanging Lake Trail yes. It will be predominantly up hill out. Next to a river all the way. You could lock your bikes and do the trail too. South to Aspen is about 80 miles round trip. Probably... More

It depends on weather. Once snow falls, you don't want to be riding a bike on the trail. Also, as the water rises in the Colorado River, the trail closes, as part of it becomes submerged in the river. Last year, the snow... More
