We love this trail. It has hills, and you can ride for quite a while. We usually go about 5 miles out from the Vapor Caves in Glenwood and then rest at a rest stop and then head back. This trip we were blessed with...More

This trail is quite amazing as we were bussed up the canyon for a smooth downhill ride into Glenwood Springs. If you enjoy biking and think 16 miles is too long...you can pretty much not pedal most of it.

This fabulous trail was created when it was decided that I-70 through Glenwood Canyon could only be constructed with the strictest ecologic standards. It was only allowed if the beautiful Colorado River was not harmed and the many tributaries also could not be harmed. This...More

I grew up in Colorado and took many trips on I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. The highway meandered next to the Colorado River. The new highway is a spectacular engineering achievement, but I miss being close to the water. So, on a recent trip, we brought...More

This a great bike trail. It goes right from downtown Glenwood Springs into scenic Glenwood Canyon. If you're lucky, you may get to see some big horn sheep up close as they tend to gather near the trail.

We arrived with our bikes to take a casual ride in the canyon. Much to our dismay we found signs saying the bike trail is closed without explanation. We drove over half the canyon and saw no reason for the closure. Thanks government for protecting...More

We started the ride at the east end of Glenwood Canyon. It's downhill most of the way back to Glenwood Springs. Astoundingly beautiful canyon. I'm glad we had plenty of time to enjoy the ride and spectacular surroundings. The only dicey part was an area...More

Is doing the whole trail out and back from Glenwood Springs for a couple in their 50s, or would you suggest being taken out in the shuttle and biking back?

Which direction? East past Hanging Lake Trail yes. It will be predominantly up hill out. Next to a river all the way. You could lock your bikes and do the trail too. South to Aspen is about 80 miles round trip. Probably... More

Hi, I can't seem to find any company renting bicycles (or the one-way shuttle) in November. Is it a seasonal activity?

It depends on weather. Once snow falls, you don't want to be riding a bike on the trail. Also, as the water rises in the Colorado River, the trail closes, as part of it becomes submerged in the river. Last year, the snow... More
