Despite a hot, challenging slow 2 hour hike, the sight of an absolute beauty will surely refresh you. In early June, the crowds weresparse which made for a very enjoyable climb with hikers egging each other to the finish line. A very pleasant experience.

This hidden gem of a lake is spectacular. I would, however, like to share a bit of information to make it more enjoyable. Firstly, on a scale of 1-10 I would give this trail a 7 as a level of difficulty. You really should be...More

This hike straight up to the falls and lake is spectacular. Take water, dress correctly. It is a Hike on a narrow rocky hill. But worth it in the end. Be sure to go behind the falls for a special site.

Do NOT start this hike without a full water bottle and sturdy close toed shoes. This hike is over a mile uphill climbing up and over rocks. That said, people of all ages attempt the hike (I even saw some not so smart people in...More

Personally, I didn't find this long (an hour one way), hot, strenuous hike to be worth the views of the boardwalk-encircled pond at its end. If you're a tourist just passing through and looking for at least some sort of Colorado hike this may be...More

Excellent hike - pretty tough climb for those not acclimated to the altitude, but you can take your time and soak in the atmosphere. If you encounter cones blocking the highway exit, it means that the parking lot is full, not that the trail is...More

The hike was every bit as difficult as the website says but was so worth it. We went early on a Tuesday morning, and it was not crowded at all. Be sure to take the very short little hike to Spouting Rock once you are...More

Make sure you continue up past the lake to the waterfall - you can walk behind the fall (but be prepared to get damp and cold - it's a good 10 degrees colder behind the waterfall!

It was so worth a hike to get to Hanging lake. Sitting up on the mountain, is this clear water serene sight of nature. Do go for it!

This trip is definitely a MUST. There are a lot of people here, but there was a lot of friendly camaraderie on the trail, and I don't think that's a real problem, beyond parking. First of all, if you're from a southern state like me,...More

Hello! Does anybody know when the leaves begin to turn on the Aspens in this area? I realize it varies year by year but is it typically mid September or later September-early October? Thanks!

Okay, so not too much color change last weekend. Still very green! I would give it another week to start seeing some real change...especially if the nights begin to get cooler.

This is a PRISTINE area absolutely do not get in the water. As a previous person answered, if you need to get wet, go stand behind the waterfall
