I'm 27 and it was about 45min each way for our friends and I. We saw some people trying to do it without proper foot ware and it was taking them three times as long as ice has now formed on three sections of the trail about 10yards each section. Recommend trainers, hiking boots or preferably strap on spikes and... More

This is an incredible trail that winds back and forth along a cascading creek (for quite a while) until it finally gets to a set of stairs and then the lake. Is it easy? No. Is it extremely difficult? No. Is it packed with people? Yes. Is there sufficient parking? No. Is it worth it? Yes. Should I turn back... More

A difficult trail but well worth the climb. It can be crowded in the summer but check it out in the fall or on a weekday.

This is an excellent place to spend a morning. Get here early because the parking area fills up fast. Take a lunch and pack it in. It will take you half a day to go up and eat and enjoy the afternoon and hike back down.

This is a great hike if you can handle a steep, 1.1-mile, 1000-ft climb. It's pretty much uphill non-stop with some pretty steep sections. And it's about 0.5 mile from the parking lot (that is big, but does fill up during the summer, we hear -- we got in no problem about 10:30 during Nov.). But I have to tell... More

We went with our two teenagers ages 13 & 16. None of us are very active or go on hikes often but this was a very challenging & long but extremly rewarding hike up hill to get to the hanging lake. Lots of people even during a weekday ( maybe due to fall break)? Parking & entrance into the park... More

This was a tough hike up for us older folks but we took it slow and made it just fine. You gain 1000 feet of elevation in the 1.25 mile climb. Spectacular lake at the top of the trail.

We rented bikes and were shuttled out to the canyon. Don't even think about riding your bike there. I saw so many kids crying with parents trying to save money on the shuttle - parents your kids can't make it up the canyon. Stop yourselves. Pay for the shuttle. The hike is easy with plenty of places to rest. I... More

After seeing an image of Hanging Lake on Pinterest I said to myself, "I have to go there!" I did just that and wasn't disappointed! If you are looking for an easy paved walking trail, I'm sorry, this isn't for you. It is not a long trail, but could be considered a challenging trek to the average person...especially at the...
