I was not really excited about visiting a quilting museum. What a pleasant surprise. This is really an art museum. There was a special exhibit of Russian quilts that was really amazing. There was also a small collection by another artist that was also great....More
I was traveling through the area with my parents and my mom saw a brochure for the quilt museum. It wasn't far out of the way so she really wanted to stop. It was not what we expected at all. We walked through the small...More
Being close to Golden, we made the 40 minute drive to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This small museum has quilts from the 2005 Exhibition (Rooted in Tradition) as well as a smaller gallery that was dedicated to a guest artist. We were extremely fortunate...More
Some of the ladies in our group were quilters so we checked out this museum. (Some of the men went through as well.) They rotate their quilts and had a nice display for us to see. The back gallery had a splendid display of African...More

I visited on a snowy afternoon and was delighted to almost have the place to myself! There were two exhibitions, but both were unique and of high quality. The gift shop had fun things to purchase, as well as quilting fabrics and books. The day...More
I wish this museum good luck in its new quarters, but I feel that it needs to tweak its collection of quilts. We had a very knowledgeable guide who gave my wife and myself a private tour, but the main exhibit consisted primarily of one...More

When I went in June 2016 there were a lot of quilts there I believe from Australia. Craftsmanship was awesome & so many creative items. The display changes, but not sure how often. I was pleased with the exhibit. Sorry you were disappointed. This was my first quilt museum I've been to. I've been to many exhibits at our state fair and art museum here in Mississippi which has an awesome cultural heritage. Quilting has been a tradition in my family for many generations.
