The Boettcher Mansion provides a rare combination of historic authenticity...

The Boettcher Mansion provides a rare combination of historic authenticity and modern amenities from its secluded setting inside the Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve in Golden, CO, only a half-hour drive west of Denver. Built in 1917 as a summer home and seasonal hunting lodge for Charles Boettcher, the former "Lorraine Lodge" was donated to Jefferson County in the 1970s for public use and enjoyment. In 1984, the Arts and Crafts estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places External Link Icon and now serves as Jeffco's premier historic events venue. A division within the Jefferson County Parks department, the Mansion is self-sustaining, supporting itself primarily from event fees. An impressive example of adaptive re-use, the one-time family residence is perfectly suited for all kinds of social gatherings, including weddings, receptions and commitment ceremonies, along with memorial services and other commemorative milestones. Carefully preserved and sensitively updated in 2005-07, this rustic yet polished architectural gem offers a stunning backdrop for conferences, dances, executive retreats, family reunions, film shoots, fundraisers, lectures, musical performances and trade shows...to name just a few of our ongoing functions.

More for someone looking to book an event. Not really a tourist attraction. Could be more but I think they are just happy to make money on events.

We went to the Mansion for a wedding and it was the perfect venue for that. The photo ops outside were numerous and gorgeous. The mansion is an old hunting lodge and looks exactly like that. They have added some rooms and walls but the main hall is still just a big open space with a monster fireplace. There is... More

We went here on a scouting mission for a wedding venue. It would be a lovely place for a wedding or other function if you are looking. You can wander around and do a self guided tour.

I suggest picking up a pamphlet for the self-guided tour. It provides additional insight into why this is an arts and crafts home. I wish there was more original furnishings to help me visualize how the Boettcher's lived.

Less than 200 yards from the Buffalo Bill Museum entrance you will find the Boettcher Mansion. It is free and if you have a few extra minutes it is worth the short walk around the premises.

We went here for a wedding. There were lots of areas outside for great picture taking. There are several rooms in the Mansion itself. The only drawback was that it was difficult walking around outside with high heels. A lovely place, especially if you have nice weather to enjoy it!

This mansion is located at the top of Lookout Mountain. You can tour the house free of charge and learn all about the history of the Boettcher Family. The grounds are beautiful and can be rented out for functions such as weddings. The home is in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. It is a beautiful home and can be... More

If you're looking for a wedding venue, in my opinion, it's a bit dark and dungeon-esque at night. But it was fun to take family pictures here one year during the day. Beautiful location and it's fun to learn about the history.

This mansion is not especially large, but the Tudor style and rooms with lots of photos and historical information regarding Charles Boettcher that prospered in the hardware business make it a nice visit for about an hour. You can get to the mansion via Golden if you want a nice scenic trip on the twisty-turny Lookout Mountain road which leads... More

It was interesting to learn about the Boettcher Family and go through the building. Currently, it is an special events venue but you can still go through the house and learn about the family, the architecture and history of the home and area.
