The Leadville National Fish Hatchery is great for more than just the historic fish hatchery. They have many great hiking and cross country skiing trails accessible from their parking lot. You can even access the Colorado Trail if you follow the connecting trails to it....More

The inside of the hatchery does not have a lot to see. However, there are fish runs and feeding pond on the outside of the grounds. Be sure to bring your quarters to you can get food to feed this fish, it's fun!

Don't expect anything too exciting. After all, it's just a fish hatchery. It's is off the beaten path, and a nice place to relax and wathc the fish swim. Great for families as kids love watching and feeding the fish.

Nice and clean fish hatchery. If you have never been to one then this a good one to start with. We enjoyed watching a couple of children having fun feeding the fish and not having to be in a crowded invironment

Would like more info on the kiosk outside about how the fish are released, etc but seeing the tanks and feeding the rainbow trout was fantastic.

Had a great time feeding the "BIG" fish in the show pond and touring the hatchery facility. Picnic tables make it an ideal place to spend great time outside with the familyQ

We enjoyed seeing all the different life stages of the fish. Feeding them was fun. The grandkids would have loved seeing all the fish and feeding them. Good stop for families with kids.

We stopped when the office was closed, but you can still view the tanks and feed the fish. Kids enjoyed it.
