We visit this park weekly cycling through on the road when we are on our road bikes. It a great starting point for going up Deer creek, or heading down the Platte River Trail. They have running water at the restrooms and food at the dock area. There are miles of easy dirt trails for mountain bikes. Great place for... More

Chatfield has a great variety of activities during every season of the year. Great fishing - including ice fishing in winter. Great hiking and biking trails as well as a stable. There is also a beach that is clean and comfortable, large camp ground, and beautiful and plentiful wildlife to observe. Wonderful views of the foothills and many picnic areas... More

We love Chatfield State Park and purchased the state park pass pretty much solely so we could go to Chatfield as much as we wanted. The dog park requires a dog pass as well but you can buy either a day pass, or a yearly pass for that inexpensively. All dogs I've encountered at the dog park have been friendly... More

We loved the beach here. Building sandcastles is a fun filled time. Restrooms near by. Some cook areas. Water is not clear because its man made we were told but we had a great play day with our kids. There is a long stretch of beach. There is a sectioned off area for swimming safely so boats wont go into... More

We took our grand dog to the Chatfield Dog Park for the first time and he had the time of his life. It's all enclosed with lots of natural habitat to run like the dickens, and he had a great time retrieving other dogs' tennis balls that were thrown in the two large ponds. The day we were there was... More

Went for a weekend horseback ride with a friend and her little girls. This guy named Bob who was the owner or manager was so belligerent and rude that we seriously thought about calling the police. He frightened us and the children. One of the little girls was in tears. We did not stay because of this and as we... More

It's an exciting place to have fun with the family or by yourself. There is bicycling, boating, hiking, walking, and even relaxing . You can bring a blanket and sit and watch the birds, boats and people. A fun day for all.

Easy place to Camp it is close to City and amenities that feels like you're further away. It's a little busy on the weekends with boaters
