Kind of a dirty mud puddle. The state parks really hose you for a daily or season pass. Not many options for boating and water skiing in Colorado. So if you use Chatfield watch for the young kids with a badge, they like to make...More

Chatfield State Park is a great place to bike, canoe and hike. It is located about 20 miles southwest of Denver and is very accessible from the city. The only downside is that motor boats are allowed and it gets crowded in the summer with...More

Big, open spaces!! Lots of room between sites, full hook ups, clean basic bathrooms (although not a fan of the quarter for 3 minutes of shower), pretty park, level, open. Saw lots of deer, rabbits, and other wildlife, plus the prettiest sunrise and sunset!

Like Chatfield but 10$ a day for a Colorado resident is ridiculous, no break for seniors on daily pass, if you have a hunting license it should be less also .

Been coming to Chatfield for years to walk, play, birdwatch, and take my dogs to swim. Keep your eyes to the sky. White pelican migrate through here. Raptors are common and I've seen bald eagles more than once on the north side of the park.

I ride this fairly regularly, it's connected to the 470 and Platte trail systems. There is still a rough spot about 6 miles in from the c-470 underpass, but bike lanes are improving and the road in from the south is new. Rolling hills, one...More
