Great place for boating, kayaking, paddleboards, bike riding, horseback riding, rving or camping. We stayed about a week there and found the campsites to have both electric and water hookups. It's not far from Denver, which we took advantage of by seeing museums, a Rockies game...More

We had a great time camping at Chatfield on a Sunday evening! Hanging out in the Platte River was serene and enjoyable. While the Park was very full, we were able to find some spots where we were nearly alone. Our camping spot (gotten through...More

I have been coming to Chatfield State Park (CSP) since 2001. I don't camp or fish; I exercise my falcon(s) there at the southeast end of the park. I'm usually only in the park from September through March, but some years, I'm there once per...More

Stayed here for five nights and we thought it was a great place to camp with our pop-up camper. The camp sites are spread out so you have some privacy, the staff is friendly, the bathrooms are well maintained and kept very clean, there are...More

I have camped at Chatfield many times, always in Loop A which has very nice sites, big enough for my motor home. Even though you are not far from town that doesn't prevent a feeling of "away from it all".

Had not been here in quite a while. What a great place it has turned into. When my son was a teen and then a young adult he spent many many hours here. Now he will rest here again and be where he loved..

This is now a state park so there is an entrance fee. But it is a beautiful sight to see. Lots of people on the water, having picnics, bike riding, or walking around. The views everywhere are amazing. I think it is a must see...More

We love to go you paddle board at Chatfield. It’s such a great place for outdoor activities like paddle boarding, horseback riding, cycling, picnicking and boating. The off leash dog park is the best in town in my opinion. They have ponds for dogs to...More

Bird watcher's paradise along the Platte River makes an enjoyable walk. Beavers display a number of dams and lodges and spring wild flowers decorate the trail. Husband and I took our dog for a 5 mile walk, saw lots of paddle boats and canoes. Only...More

For a sure answer call Colo. State Parks 303-791-1920. I have never gone without a reservation, but I think that unreserved sites can be occupied if available.
