Roxborough has fascinating rock formations, a number of nice trails, and a small, but well-done interpretive center.

What a great place to take in the beauty of Colorado; we saw dozens of deer, hundreds of birds, and spent less than about 15 minutes driving through the Park. Definitely worth the short drive from Denver.

Such a beautiful park! We only had a short amount of time to hike around so we went straight to the Fountain Valley Trail, a short loop trail that starts from the Visitor's Center. We had splendid weather and the views were just wonderful. The...More

I only had about 2 hours to hike, so I only made it halfway up to Carpenter Peak. The scenery was beautiful and the weather was great. The visitors center has a lot of interesting info on the area and I was able to buy...More

I’ve been hiking Carpenters Peak for years and absolutely love it. Takes about 1:20minutes to hike up. My 10 & 12 year old boys have joined us. It is a big hike for them but if you bring snacks and water they will enjoy it...More

We took a walk with our two boys grandchildren age 7 and 5 and it was great. The trails are very good to walk on and the scenery was great. They got a little tired as my wife and I were moving along. There are...More

Moderately easy park to explore by trali on foot. Unique red rock formations. Good visitor center with video of the history and geology of the area.

When Roxborough State Park was created to be a walk-in only state park I was skeptical about how that would be managed. They have done an outstanding job. The paths and smaller trails wind through the same red rock formations as more famous parks, BUT...More

Beautiful trail with 360 degrees view of the red rocks. Part of the trail is through woods and part in open plains. Jus amazingly beautiful. There are 3 trails options: easy, moderate and advanced. Highly recommended.

This beautiful State Park offers something for everybody. From easy smooth trails to more challenging hikes. We were lucky on our visit and got to see an array of wildlife, including two mule deer, a hawk, and a bull snake. The park docent was knowledgeable...More

There is not a tram ride around the park. For older visitors, you might try the Fountain Valley Trail - that is considered one of the easiest, but please keep in mind this is a real hiking trail - not a paved walk. For... More

Hi. If you have a State park pass you can get in for free, if not it is a daily fee of $8.00 . Be prepared to have cash on hand in case no one is at front booth then you have to place in a slot. It's worth the beauty. Hope... More

I think there is a park nearby that is closed but Roxborough was alive and well when we visited in September. Mike
