Kids or No Kids Great Place to Visit in Denver

I think I learned more than the grandkids, but it is a wonderful experience to have right here in our metro area. Educational, exciting and informative. Great gift shop too.

I've lived in Colorado for almost ten years, and I've heard so much about Dinosaur Ridge. As I was out at Red Rocks with a visitor, I thought it'd be fun to check out Dinosaur Ridge. While the views are stunning, you'll see more fossils in the gift shop than on the actual walk. It's not very exciting, honestly. Go... More

This was our first stop after getting into town last week. After spending so much time on a plane, we were looking forward to a good hike, and this place didn't disappoint. Totally free to hike and look around the little museum/shop area. It's really cool to see the dinosaur tracks and bones on the trail. You can also go... More

We looked at displays in the visitor center and then took the 3 mile round trip too see the dinosaur tracks and other fossils. A shuttle bus tour is available if you don't want to walk. We saw a bouquet of wild flowers along the walk. Great views of the encroaching development to the East and wild park lands including... More

The bones aren't as cool or even removed from the rock, as I thought they would be. The tracks are kind of hard to see. There just wasn't much here. We were two adults so maybe kids would like this better. I believe there are free trails nearby with other dinosaur tracks.

Great quick hike while seeing some prehistoric stuff. We stopped at the Vistor's Center to ask for directions along with a map. The hike is free but you can also purchase shuttle tickets which costs 8 dollars per person for a 45 minute tour and includes entry to the exhibit hall. We planned to do the hike. We were able... I thought this was neat. Free to walk the trail. There isn't a whole lot to see but some interesting things & a good walk. I would recommend.

We really enjoyed our morning at Dinosaur Ridge. It was me (mom) and 4 kids ranging in age from infant to 7 years old. The woman at the Visitors Center was very nice and gave my kids all kinds of great information about the dinosaurs and findings at Dinosaur Ridge. We decided to walk the Dinosaur Ridge trail rather than... More

We loved it here, our children are 7 & 5, both loved the museum, looking for fossils in the sand pit ,the mini bus ride to the different viewing points of interest and our guide was very informative and interesting . My youngest seemed to enjoy climbing the rocks more than looking at dinosaur fossils, but my 7 year old... More
