This hike was fun and full of surprises. Yes there are lots of up climbs, but there are lots of rewards- waterfalls, beautiful views of the town below, snow capped mountains, wooden bridges to cross and a tunnel. Make sure you bring plenty of water.

Perfect trail for great views and a little morning exercise. We finished the trail in 4 hours. It is a fairly easy trail with a few areas of steep inclines and declines. It passes 2 waterfalls so their are some sites on the trail.

Cool little mountain town and this trail gives you a different perspective of it all. You will not regret it.

The inclines are pretty hefty considering the already high altitude .. but the views are well worth any amount of incline.

We loved this hike! It's absolutely beautiful and very well-marked with frequent signs. Excellent views of the mountains and the town of Ouray below. It took us about three hours.

The trail provided variety—scenic views of Ouray, waterfalls, woods, a meadow, tunnel, and pedestrian bridges. The challenging hike took us about 5 hours but we stopped frequently for water, photo ops, and a picnic lunch. We did not take enough water along and became very...More

It was a little rough. Scary. We don't hike much but I consider myself to have good coordination & decent stamina for a 52 year old. Well worth the views and personal achievement felt upon finishing. We didn't do the entire perimeter. We conquered Box...More
