First things first, this is not a zoo! the proprietor gave us (tour group from Hersonnisos) a rundown of what they did and why. He is half Portuguese half Brazilian and loves wildlife He had a few birds of his own and is interested in conservation. During visits to family in Brazil (Manaus I believe) he has seen first hand... We were told this was a "small zoo" so we didn't get our hopes high, however 20 euros each we expected something a little more.. well that's just it, we expected more, there's a wide range of endangered birds which you can barely see due to how the park is set up, we had no tour of the park and... We were recommended visiting here by our car hire company and have to say that the family thoroughly enjoyed every minute. (Four adults and two children 12 and 9). We walked around the park which is quite small and enjoyed looking at the different types of parrots (one of which would frequently say kalimera to you). We were lucky and... More

We visited this park on a saturday after being enchanted by the ad 'come pet our monkeys'. When we arrived after a long and difficult drive we were thrilled to finally go see the monkeys and pet them. Luckily we did not miss the accompanied tour to visit the monkeys which is only every two hours.. as there is nothing... More

If we hadn't stuck around to see the lemurs, the difficult trip to this remote park would have been in vain. However the lemurs were a wonderful experience. Please note that this place only accepts cash. The kiosk was very poor. Only sodas and dry popcorn. No entertainment for the kids during the approximately two hours wait to see the... More

The park is well kept, nicely signposted, and has a wide variety of parrots and exotic birds (about 20 different species or so). It takes one a good 20 minutes to see these. There is also a family of monkeys, a family of lemurs, and a donkey, but if you go after the tour to these animals has started, you... More

The place is small - and unless you join the guided tour (which run at certain times) you end up spending 15 euros per head to see 5 parrots and 3 monkeys. Our visit timing was unfortunate - we came 1,5 hours before the next tour, finished the whole thing in 20 minutes, and the kids of course had no... More

based near the top of the mountains, getting there up narrow roads is worthwhile for the views alone....however, the park itself is wonderful, well set out, easy to get round and see the birds in the cages close up...however the trip into the lemur enclosure is probably everyones highlight...monkeys will quite happily jump onto you making for some amusing photos... This attraction was part of our trip we booked from Malia to Agios Nikolaos. We were happy to have this break on the way there as our son (2.5 years) does not like to sit still for very long. And also he loves animals, especially parrots. The top attraction though was not the parrots but to go into the area... More

Booked this through our Thomson Rep, took a while to get there from our hotel as it seems to be a popular trip. When you get there you'll initially be blown away with the stunning views. Once inside we were met by the guy who set up the park and he is quite passionate with what he is wanting to... More
