Known as the Zirkel Circle, I did the trail counter clockwise and had a great day of hiking to the lakes. Beautiful colors and many animals out. Great Hike. Moderate and not easy.

Seriously loved camping here! We stayed a week and a half backpacking in this area. Saw so much wildlife, breathtaking views, and loved the challenge of hiking up the mountains. We didn't keep to a trail, since my husband knows the area well, so I...More

Challenging hike, but worth it. Would recommend starting off by 10am. Don't be intimidated by the Circle Pass. It is not as difficult as it looks.

Worth the long hike. It took us 7 hours to complete the Zirkel circle and we took many, many breaks. Several groups past us and completed faster. Loved the views and would do it again!

We have a home in Steamboat Springs and continue to be amazed by the great views, hikes, wildlife, and wild flowers in The Zirkels. There are lots of trails to hike, unlimited spots to camp, and beautiful lakes to fish.

Jeeped down Mt. Falwell watching the views in Mt. zirkel. Stunning views and sites. The area had a blow down which can be seen.

You can camp where you like. Just be sure to know the rules of a wilderness area, such as making camp off the trail and at least 100 ft from water sources. It's beautiful there! Have fun!
