Grizzle-T Dog & Sled Works is a dog sledding tour business located in Steamboat Springs, CO. Family owned and operated by Iditarod Musher, Kris Hoffman and his wife Sara. In business since 1996, we offer both “Learn to Drive” dog sledding tours where we bring you out and teach you how to drive your own team (typically 2 people/sled with one starting as the driver and 1 being the passenger and then switching half way around the trail) or “Guide Driven” tours where we drive the sleds for you and you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful Colorado mountains at the speed of dog. Our 12.5mile backcountry trail is located on a private ranch just west of Steamboat. Our pristine (groomed) trail snakes through Colorado’s mountainous ranch country traversing over ridgelines, through canyons, open meadows, and everything in-between. Views include the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Sleeping Giant, The Zirkles, The Steamboat Ski Area, the Valley and much more...with the occasional spotting of wildlife!

Did this last year.......sooooo much fun. They give you instructions and you get to actually drive the team of Alaskan huskies!!! They have options......we did the 12 mile tour/ride. My hubby drove first, then half way in we switched. It is fun to ride in the sled. The scenery is breathtaking and it is peaceful & quiet (except, of course,... More

My girlfriends and I did the South tour and had so much fun. It was very cold that day (high 14) so we waited until the afternoon and it was a beautiful bluebird day and didn't seem nearly as cold as it actually was. Tom and Amy were so friendly and took a lot of time to give instructions, introduce... More

I was looking for a fun activity to do with my 13-year-old daughter who had grown tired of the ski scene and wanted to do something different. We both love dogs and the outdoors so the thought of dog sledding was intriguing - and our experience at Grizzle-T far exceeded our expectations. Kris, Sara, and their staff clearly care a... More

Great, unforgettable experience. We have 5 kids ranging in age from 13 months to 16 years. It is challenging to find an activity for all to enjoy, but dog sledding was one of them. Our youngest enjoyed seeing the dogs when we arrived, and then slept soundly during the cozy ride. Being a mother of young ones herself, Sara was... More

A highlight of a week-long trip to Steamboat. Personable owners, Kris and Sara (he's competed in the Iditarod) make you feel at home. Just seeing the operation is a hoot and they'll have you driving your own dog sled after a quick but thorough training orientation. Two hour tour covers a bit over twelve miles of spectacularly beautiful terrain. Have... More

This was about the third dog mushing trip I've taken. I was impressed with the friendly, caring staff there. The driver was punctual in picking me up from my condo. They know each of their 120 Alaskan huskies individually, and obviously have their best interests at heart. A good introduction to the basics of mushing, and helpful guidance from the staff... More

A beautiful Scenic ride on a dog sled that you get to drive. Their instruction, personnel and equipment are all first class. I'd recommend this for families couples and individuals.

We had a blast getting to know the dogs and then going for a ride on the South Tour! Anyone can do it, and it was just a really cool and unique experience. Dani and Tom did a fantastic job, from picking us up at our condo to making sure we knew everything we needed to know. I really enjoyed... More
