This hike is by far, one of the best hikes in Telluride. This hike is also one of the longest. We were prepared to hike 13 miles but it ended up being 20 miles total after realizing the book didn't account for the other connecting...More

I did the Sneffels Highline Trail in mid July and agree with most of what the other reviewers have said here, but I have a few different or additional thoughts. As a note, I did this hike counter-clockwise with 2.75 hours up to the saddle...More

By choosing to take this hike, you are obviously fit and enjoy high alpine hiking. It's a good 5 hour loop, steep to the top, more gentle and a longer distance down. No reason not to go. Go early in the morning during the summer,...More

We like to go in spring and fall, because the aspens put on a world class color show both seasons. This is a fairly strenuous hike for low land visitors, but well worth trying anyway. It goes far up into the western San Juan's into...More

We left at 9:30 am & did the counter-clockwise loop. I definitely recommend this route– it took us about 3.5 hours to reach the highest point (4 miles) & another 3.5 hours from there back to the trailhead (just over 8 miles). That should give...More

This is a 13 mile hike, so not for the inexperienced, though the trail is very good. Views are beautiful, the mountains enfold you. The terrain changes from grassy to rocky. You will not forget the experience. Bring water & food of course!

Outstanding hike. It'll instantly become one of your favorite hikes ever. Unfortunately, there isn't much parking available at the top of Aspen St., so try to find someone to drop you off and pick you up. Also, start the hike early before any potential afternoon...More

This hike was amazing. We did the counter-clockwise loop, starting at the top of Aspen Street in Telluride. I recommend this route (vs. clockwise) for a couple reasons: 1) You reach the summit and start descending earlier -- safer, as storms are likelier after noon;...More
