The Ski Museum in Vail is small but definitely worth an hour or so of time. The have a wonderful exhibit on the 10th Mountain Division including a great video. It was so interesting to learn about the impact these soldiers had not only on the outcome of WWII, but on the development of the ski industry in Colorado. Skiing... More

The museum is free but donations are happily accepted. There are lots of great visual displays of the history of skiing and snowboarding. There is also an exhibit that gives more info on the 10th mountain division that trained near Vail. The gift shop has nice little gifts that will fit better in a suitcase than a pair of skis.... Cousin that was in the 10th Mountain division. Very nice museum. Interesting displays and videos. The Olympics uniforms and equipment of the last 20 yr was intereating. Snowboarding displays were also fun to look at. Very nice gift shop. Several books available regarding the 10th Mountain Division. Well worth 1-2 hr of your time. Be sure to make a nice... More

The ski museum is a place where you will learn many things about Vail that you did not know, and you will lose track of time there. The area on the 10th Mountain soldiers "Climb to Glory" is wonderful, and on Summer Fridays they have a talk given by one of the original soldiers. Facinating !

It's not large but there is a lot to see in this museum. It in the Vail Transportation Center - easy parking or bus access. There is a great Olympic exhibit - it features a lot of Colorado skiers and snowboarders actual uniforms and medals. The 10th Mountain Division room is great. If you have the time watch the movie.... This space, call it a museum or temple, is one of the best sports specific compilations of history I've experienced. Granted, I love the sport. That said, the collection of memorabilia, stories, artifacts and layout, form a fantastic experience. The pioneers of the sport are well represented here. Their stories- from the famed 10th Mountain Division to the development of... More

This sure doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is a really interesting place. The perfect place for us to visit while we waited for our lunch destination to open. Informative and interesting!

Although I am not an athlete, I really enjoyed visiting this museum. The displays are well done and quite informative. Vail has such a history in the sports world that this museum is appropriate to visit to in order to learn more about the area and the great athletes who helped put Vail on the map.

The Colorado Ski Museum, located in the Vail Village parking structure, is a wonderful glimpse at how far this sport has come!! Memorabilia and historical ski equipment are terrific. Fun to see how far the sport has come and from where!
