This is a fantastic trail that I especially enjoyed because it changes so much! It got a bit challenging the further toward the falls due to the snow and the icy path, but I just picked my way carefully and loved the heck out of it. Enjoy!

Decided to take a day off skiing and had perfect day for hike to Booth Falls! Mostly hard packed snow until halfway and then wished we had snowshoes. Sometimes stepped into thigh deep snow! Needed hiking boots with gaiters to prevent soaked feet! Luckily had trekking poles (used ski poles) or else would not have been enjoyable.

Scenic diverse hike that wasn't too difficult. Starting from the parking lot you ascend quickly and after passing through birch and forested areas walk through mountain meadows enrout to the falls. My perfectly sunny afternoon changed quickly with rain/storm clouds and required double-time to make it back before the rains.

Wow we loved this trail. A moderate hike with beautiful views of aspens and waterfalls. The trail can be very busy and parking is hard to find. Once you reach the falls you can climb down and enjoy the view and a snack. An out and back trail mostly on an incline. Definitely worth the trip of you are looking... More

This is a relentlessly uphill climb, 900 feet in the first 50 minutes but very doable and worth the effort. Nice mix of sunshine and shades tree cover. This would be unbelievable during fall colors. So close to Vail; very easy to get to the trailhead off I70.

Get here early if you want a parking place. Close to town and easy to find trailhead. You will get your exercise on this one. Take a lunch to enjoy at the picturesque falls. You will have plenty of company on the trail.

We took this hike in late September. There were minimal windflowers, but the aspens were an intense yellow-gold thru much of the hike. I arrived about 8:15 on a Sunday morning and had no trouble finding a parking space. Fifteen minutes later and it would have been a problem. The first mile or so was a pretty good uphill climb... Easy to get to the trail head from Vail. Very limited parking. The first part of the trail goes up steeply but it is worth it.

Limited parking can be expected on weekends. However, during the week, when school is in session, get there early. As we were parking we saw two students arriving their car and then walk down to the school. This should not be allowed.

If you love to hike you'll love this trail. Many others will likely join you on a weekend. Midweek - it is not crowded. About 2.5 miles to the Booth Creek falls. Another 2.5 or so to Booth Lake. Pretty good elevation gain - so be prepared. The hike can get hot. If you are early in the morning -... More
