Unfortunately, the grooming schedule is inconsistent, so check ahead to find out about trail conditions. There are other (usually ungroomed) trails in the area, some of which are designated for unmotorized...More

We tent camped at NORTH MICHIGAN RESERVOIR. The view was lovely from campsite 216. It rained and we saw a double rainbow over the mountains. It was a quiet campground with some generators across the lake and on the other end. There were pit toilets...More

I really like exploring this area, but your not always going to see a Moose. They winter in lower elevations, I have found them along the highway in the Willows between the park and the town of Walden. I photographed 9 in one day this...More

Beautiful area! Don't miss the Moose visitor center. Some nice trails everywhere. A good drive on Francisco loop road. Helpful rangers and plenty of Moose if you're at the right time.

We took our family for a spur of the moment camping trip this past weekend (July 14-16) to State Forest State Park. Since it was last minute, we did not have a site reservation and were concerned we would not be able to get into...More

The beetle kill is certainly not unique to SFSP, but given how very far you have to drive to get there, I feel I have to warn you. We spent a day exploring Poudre Canyon over the weekend, with a few hours checking out the...More
