If you enjoy riding on windy mountainous roads you will love this pass. There are also some other incredible tracks in the area avoiding the main road. I got so caught up in enjoying the ride I didn't bother stopping for the monkeys.

Really loved this experience, my husband and I hired scooters, and rode from Senggigi to the harbour and then to Pusuk Pass, loved seeing the monkeys sitting and going about their business on the side of the road, then we saw the area where you can stop and buy bags of peanuts for about $1 to feed to the monkeys, really wonderful experience and enjoyed the help from the rangers who had ID tags, highly recommend.

Get a scooter and take a ride.the road up there is very nice and a fun ride. The monkeys are definitely there because humans are feeding them. There are a bunch of food vendors just before the area to sell you food for the monkeys. It’s cool to see but not actually natural. The monkeys are there for the free grub.

We made our way to the north of Lombok from the south and stopped of here as planned. We enjoyed the ride on our bikes up and down the mountain but the view was not hay great. Soooo many people there just hanging around rather than enjoying the view. We only spent 5 mins here before leaving to the better stop off point of Bukit Selong. Here you get a much better view and less people.
Top tip: don’t pay the entrance fee, you get just as good view from the road side barriers.

Drive there is incredible, beautiful scenery up Mount Pusuk. However, it became clear upon arrival that the monkeys were there due to the human traffic feeding them; therefore creating a v unnatural environment. This was at times distressing, as tourists would irresponsibly litter and feed the monkeys human products (including wrapped chocolate and water bottles), all for a photo.
Extremely disappointed, wouldn't recommend. Please do not contribute to this irresponsible tourism by feeding the monkeys products for human consumption and littering.

We hired a scooter and rand went to monkey forest on our own, it's easy to find and the monkeys at the top are very friendly, however the one as you descend are a little more wild so be a bit more careful. Fro. Senagiggi it's about 40 minutes but well worth it. The scooter are about £3 a day and well worth investing in, lombokis mot difficult to navigate and it's great to explore the villages that see very little tourism, they are wonderful people who smile and wave

We did a morning trip to the pass to feed the monkeys we did the round trip in a taxi. Worth stopping in your way to get some peanuts as they seem to like these.

I know that people get tired of all the monkeys that abound throughout Indonesia, but they still hold a certain allure. We stopped along the road on our way to Sendang Gile/Tiu Kelep waterfalls as there was a small group of monkeys playing on the shoulder. Our guide had taken us to the wonderful Gunungsari market earlier where we purchased some bananas. No one was here so we had them all to ourselves. They were mildly aggressive if you didn't give them the banana immediately - no patience at all. There were several moms with babies and some very large males who chased everyone else away. If you stop, make sure you have some food. Too bad there's so much trash on the roadside as it definitely is a distraction.
