Western Australia's oldest observatory is located 25km east of Perth in Bickley. The Observatory has served the state of WA for over 100 years and remains actively involved in the service of public education. In recognition of its scientific, cultural and historical significance, the Observatory was entered on the state's Heritage Register in 2005. The Perth Observatory is part of the Department of Parks and Wildlife. The Observatory is open for day and night tours. Visit our website for information about our night sky viewing and day tours.

My wife and I went to the Observatory last night and had a great time. To see other planets, stars, nebulae and even other galaxies was an awe inspiring experience. What a great experience. The tour guides are not only knowledgeable but entertaining. The night was extremely enjoyable. Worth the visit.

Having the experience to view planets in detail and see nebulae and star clusters is an opportunity of a lifetime. Perth observatory offers these experience all year round, and at a decent price.

Definietely one for everyone's bucket list. Visited last night with other family members and we rated the experience one of the best we have ever done had. A huge thank you to Matt and all the wonderful volunteers involved we will be back.

I "Named a star" as a gift to my children when their father passed just a few weeks ago. This prompted a visit to the Bickley Observatory. O M G. I can't believe how beautiful our universe is. A group of photographers on a guided tour of the Observatory, taking advantage of a "dark sky" to photograph the heavens. I attended a night viewing at the observatory and found it most interesting and a wonderful experience of seeing our stars close up. Thank you to the very knowledgeable volunteers
