A place to see history. Great site over looking the river. This old fort is made of earthworks. Great place to watch the fireworks over the river.

While in New London we decided to see the battle field. Not the typical state park as there is no defined parking area. You can see it all from the street level.

If you are interested in history, or the American Revolution, you will enjoy a visit here. The fort itself isn't gated so you can visit at any time. This is one of the best preserved forts from this time period and it's easy to envision the battle unfolding. In September 1781, British forces under command of the traitor Benedict Arnold... More

Nice place. It is fairly small - as it was for the revolutionary war. It is a quick visit in a well maintained park - not too much to see, so it does not require much time to walk around. There is a neat monument that looks like a miniature stone Washington Monument that you can go up a few... More

The repairs being done to the entrance have been completed. Not only a great historical site but a beautiful view of the river , Fort Trumbull and New London across the river. The museum is small but very informative. The view from the top of the monument is spectacular but there is no elevator, it is 166 steps. Call the... More

Such a cool place. Part of the fort is still standing and there's a tower you can climb and get a beautiful view of the Thames river and the coast of New London. You can even read and hear about how Benedict Arnold was involved in a battle there. Really cool place for history buffs and nature lovers.
