Impressive ruin which can be seen from the river and tow path. Very scenic settings around here and fabulous for walking.

Sadly you cannot come close to these magnificent ruins as they are located on private lands. But there is good view from the road, or along the towpath by the river.

Great place to see on a cold and frosty morning. When he sun is coming up and it's misty the place is beautiful. Alas it's on privately owned land so is difficult to actually walk amongst the location. Walk along the path and take your camera!!

I don’t think this can be really classed as an attraction as you can’t get near it. However, the walk along the canal and lock is nice. I’d suggest who ever owns it should open it to public even just got a few days - most people would be prepared to pay to see it.

This may be a grade I listed building, but it can only be seen from a distance as it is on private property and there is no public access.

Its a ruin and with a big camera lens is quite good for a photograph, but that's about it.

Pity would like to have looked around.

No photo, as it was too far away from the path.

Not worth a special trip.

Newark Abbey is a landmark but not accessible to the public though I gather their have been gatherings early in the morning for Easter Sunday. It can be viewed from the road heading for Ripley or alternately from the other side from the river bank near the lock before arriving at Ripley. A bit disappointing.

The base and walls are still here but the rest is in ruins of this 12th century priory near to the river Wey. About a 5 minute drive from the A3.

This can only be seen from the nearby road or riverside walk as it stands on private land. There is really not very much to see. It was dissolved at the time of Henry VIII and does not offer much interest except to specialists. However there are lots of very nice walks in the area so worth a trip to see it.
