We visited Macedonia Brook State Park during Fall Foliage season. It was a beautiful spot to get out, hike and take in the foliage.

Very pleasant hike in early fall, quiet, colorful We hiked on the trails on the east side of the road, which they say is not as steep, but still has elevation changes. You are never too far away from the brook if you are on the red trail.

We had a great time camping at Macedonia Brook. It really felt like we were getting away from things without even leaving the state.

The park and camp sites were well kept and spacious. There are no showers and the toilets are pit toilets so it's probably not for "glampers", but for those who don't mind such accommodations, or lack there of, and the kind of bugs you expect deeper in nature, it's an excellent place. We had neighbors in other sites near ours (#15) but it didn't feel like we were on top of each other. We were also able to purchase bundles of fire wood for five bucks a piece at the main office.

The hiking in the area was fantastic. We took the infamous blue trail to the top of Cobble Mountain. It was a short but tough trek up but the view was well worth it. It was also about a 10 minute drive into downtown Kent, CT which was a pleasant area to spend an afternoon checking out a variety of small shops and good restaurants (The Villager Restaurant had excellent sandwiches and wraps), as well as to stock up on fresh ice, water, and other basic necessities. Kent Falls State Park was also about another 10 minutes from Kent and made a nice afternoon hike.

One word of warning is that the no alcohol rule was strictly enforced and we did witness a party of campers made to dump their beers out.

All in all it was a great spot for a get away and we can't wait to go back and check out more of the variety of camp sites available at Macedonia Brook!

The Macedonia Brook State Park is a beautiful spot to do some leaf peeping. We took a road trip to see the last of the fall foliage. The area has a New England country feel and we enjoyed our trip.

Park rangers will be in your business and harass you even if you don’t have alcohol. Save your time and money they will be creepy and come to your site high beams on in the middle of the night and all thru the day constantly asking you what your doing. What a beautiful place to camp but nobody wants to stay there with rangers as up your butt as these ones. I’d like to piss in peace

We drove through here in one of those "SatNav" adventures. We'd typed in what we thought was the code for Kent Falls State Park but apparent the SatNav recognises two places and we chose the wrong one.

It looked a lovely place as we drove through following the stream. There are campsites and trails to follow.

The brook that runs through this park is so tranquil. It is a great place for hiking and picnics. There are many trails of varying levels and nice roads to simply take a walk. The "facilities" are primitive. Picnic tables and grills are available next to the brook. Such a great place to spend a day or camp.

Would be a nice camping experience, but the NO BEER policy is ridiculous. Even though we had no beer, the staff spied on us at our site at night to try to "catch us" with beer. They even looked inside the tent and car. Felt like the Gestapo was in charge. When I complained they threatened to arrest me. Last time there.

My husband and I came here twice during our stay in Connecticut. The first time we did the yellow trail and it was okay, with the leaves falling sometimes the trail was hard to see. The second day we had a much better experience we took the white trail on the left side of the park, also called Cobble Mountain. It's a quick, hard, and fast incline to the top. The beautiful views are worth it. Wear good shoes, towards the top you are climbing and later descending on rocks. Very well marked trail. Would do it again!
