Litchfield Green Splendor of New England

We came here for a visit to the Litchfield Green. The white church has classic architecture and makes for a great photo opportunity.

Visitors are always welcome at this historic church. Sunday services begin at 10:30 am -- not 11 am, like many other churches. Fellowship coffee hour afterwards. Sunday school for the children and programs and activities for tweens and teens. The book store in the basement sells gently used books -- open on Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm and... More

This Church on the green in Litchfield is well worth a visit. Its iconic architecture and lovely interior, coupled with its fascinating history and storied preachers, make it one of my favorite sites to show off to visiting families and friends. Don't miss it!

In addition to lovely Fair Trade gift shop selling handcrafted items from many developing countries this church also has a used bookstore opened most Saturday's. (Look for the lawn signs that are always out on the corner when basement book store is open) . Great place to browse with friendly volunteer staff and a wide selection of books.

This was the first church I visited in Litchfield--while they had an interim pastor. I felt welcomed even though I knew no one. It is always nice to feel welcomed by a congregation when you are not very familiar with the area.

This is the perfect example of a true Congregational Church. Situated across from the Litchfield Green, it is picture perfect setting and at one time I believe had the distinction of being the most photographed church in the area. It's truly beautiful and kept up to perfection.

We stopped here at the town of Litchfield during our trip through the state of Connecticut and enjoyed the many sites throughout town and this church in particular.

Had a nice visit with experienced and knowledgeable ladies that staff the gift shop. Made several purchases and saw many things that were well crafted and inexpensive
