We stayed near this drawbridge, and got to see it open twice. It's quite fascinating, and worth hanging around to see if it will open while you are there. This bridge does have walking paths along the side, so it's easy to cross the river...More

Summer months the bridge goes up 40 past each hour. Take a ride on the Argia sail boat or seaport steam boat for a on the river view.

A very unique bridge over the Mystic River. It is worth hanging out to see it open and close. There are not many bridges of this type still in use.

We were so lucky to see the drawbridge in action. Loved watching the sail boat pass. It never grows old for me.

This bridge is worth the drive into Mystic on any given day. If you happen to be there when it is up, the more the better. The area around this bridge is also worth walking thru, lots of art and food.

While shopping downtown, the bridge went up and it is pretty amazing. Traffic is stopped both ways but everyone stops to watch

The bridge design is fascinating. We watched it from the street and also from a boat. Really cool to see.

We walked up to the bridge just in time to see it open up. No matter how many times I've seen it, I am so impressed, enthralled and entertained. Judging by the rest of the crowd, I was not the only one.

The bridge opens at 20 minutes to the hour throughout the day to allow boats to pass under. It’s interesting watching the mechanics of the bridge as it opens and shuts.
