I'd really enjoy going back and finding out more about this place. We saw a Gutenberg Bible and an original Audubon anthology. There was enough to see and experience for a short visit and if you could get a tour and check out the special exhibits then this place is a gem.

Saturday tours provide nice introduction to the library's collection and building design. Special exhibits always serve to enhance the library's permanent offerings.

If you see nothing else in New Haven this should be it. I had no idea how impressive this place was going to be but glad I stumbled into this true gem. They are starting Afternoon tours so check the website for times.

My friends took me to Beinecke as part of my Yale tour, and I was blown away. There was an exhibit about the Harlem Renaissance, which was absolutely fascinating. We wandered around for almost an hour and loved it. The fact that they have a Gutenberg Bible on display is amazing!

It's open till 5pm on Fridays. It's beautiful but the Yale Art Gallery and Sterling Library parts of campus look better in my opinion. It's free and open to the public to view which is nice. If you get caught in a fire there, you could die, because they suck all the air out of the building to save the... More

Really enjoyed time spent here. Saw the Audubon books and was impressed by the special ?glass? enclosed area for rare books.

It is an amazing library. You get to see items that you know are real through history, but you can actually see things from the 12th century. These items make the past a reality. Deborah

This is Yale's rare book collection, not a big place, with a stunning interior, just renovated. Pop in to see a rare Gutenberg bible and the small special exhibit of the day. Pick a sunny day, when the inside of the thin marble walls glow with light, it's a remarkable effect.

Step inside the Mecca of Knowledge. The way they store and display the rare books in the center of the building is fascinating. Protected by the low light seeping in from translucent marble , the entire space has an elegant aura. Love the temporary exhibits that pull From their vast collection. Currently focused on the Harlem Renaissance, it is a... More

I always enjoy to visit the Beinecke. The warm indoor light that seeps in through the marble makes for a tranquil environment.
